Why I Started Blencathra Administration Solutions

Hello, I’m Rebecca, the proud owner and founder of Blencathra Administration Solutions, a trusted virtual assistant business based in the UK. It’s been over a year now since I launched my virtual admin services, and I wanted to share a little about my journey, the story behind the name, and why this venture means so much to me.

Whit I started a VA Business

From Redundancy to New Beginnings

In March 2024, I faced redundancy after many years working in administrative roles. At first, it was daunting, but it also gave me the chance to rethink my career and what I wanted from my work and life. With the amazing support of my family, friends and my boss, I decided to turn what I was good at and this challenge into an opportunity by going self employed as a virtual assistant.

Why ‘Blencathra’?

The name Blencathra was a no brainer when it came to finding a name for my business. It’s is the name of a beautiful fell in the Lake District, which is place close to mine and my families heart and somewhere I call 'my happy place'.

Family - My Biggest Motivation

As a Mum, my children are my 'why' and starting Blencathra Administration Solutions wasn’t just about a career change. It was about creating a better work life balance that allows me to be present for my family while also being present for my clients, providing fantastic expert admin support for small businesses and busy professionals.

Reflecting on the First Year

Over the past year, I’ve had the privilege to support a variety of clients with virtual admin services, including diary management, document preparation, social media scheduling, and much more. Being a self employed VA means I can offer flexible, reliable support tailored to my clients needs, helping them focus on the jobs that matter.

Looking Ahead
