I can’t quite believe it – Blencathra Administration Solutions is officially one year old! I am definatley celebrating with cake!

When I started this business a year ago, I was filled with a mix of excitement and nerves. Taking the leap into running my own business was one of the biggest (and scariest) decisions I’ve ever made, but looking back now, I know it was the right one for me and my family.

This past year has been an incredible journey, filled with so many highs a few challenges, and countless lessons along the way. I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the past year and share some of the things I’ve learned, and most importantly, to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported me.

The Journey So Far

Starting my own business was something I’d thought about for a long time but actually doing it felt like stepping into the unknown. I remember those early days, figuring out the details, wondering if anyone would actually hire me, and constantly questioning if I was doing the right thing.

But slowly, things started to come together. I was lucky, and started the business with my first client, but then after networking and making connections, I signed another client, and before long, I found myself very nearly fully booked (don't worry I am still taking on clients!).

The feeling of knowing that I was making a difference in my clients’ businesses, helping them streamline their admin, save time, and feel more in control, was exactly why I started this in the first place.

What I’ve Learned

Trust the process – There were definitely moments when I doubted myself, but I’ve learned that success takes time and consistency.

Boundaries matter – Learning to balance work and life has been one of the biggest challenges, but setting boundaries has made me a better business owner (and a happier person!).

It’s okay to ask for help – Running a business doesn’t mean you have to do it all alone. Reaching out to fellow business owners and accepting support has been a game-changer.

Celebrate the wins – Big or small, every step forward is worth recognising.

The Highs and Lows

Of course, it hasn’t all been smooth sailing. There have been tough days – moments when things didn’t go to plan, when I felt overwhelmed, or when I questioned whether I was cut out for this.

But the highs have far outweighed the lows. Some of the highlights include:

  • Being recognised as an SVA approved member – a huge milestone for me and my business!

  • Receiving amazing feedback from clients – knowing that my work is truly helping others is the most rewarding feeling.

  • Building relationships with other business owners – the business community is so supportive, and I’m so grateful to be part of it.

A Huge Thank You

I couldn’t have reached this milestone without the incredible support from my clients, connections, family, and friends. Your trust, encouragement, and referrals have made this possible and I’m so grateful for every single one of you.

To my clients, thank you for allowing me to be part of your business. Your success is my success, and I’m honoured to be on this journey with you.

Looking Ahead

So, what’s next? Year two is all about growth, refining my services, expanding my offerings, continuing to provide the highest level of support to my clients and maybe adding to the team. I’m excited about the future and can’t wait to see what the next chapter

If you’ve supported me in any way, whether you’ve worked with me, recommended me, or simply cheered me on - thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Here’s to the next year - let’s make it even better!
